2025 MOTOGP™ QATAR AIRWAYS GRAND PRIX OF QATAR
The 2025 MotoGP™ Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar concluded with spectacular racing action at Lusail International Circuit (LIC) from April 11-13, drawing more than 50,000 spectators across the three-day event. The fourth round of the 77th FIM Road Racing World Championship marked the 21st edition of MotoGP™ at LIC since the circuit first hosted the championship in 2004.
The highlight of the weekend was the MotoGP™ Grand Prix where Marc Marquez from Ducati Lenovo Team demonstrated exceptional skill to claim victory.Maverick Viñales from Red Bull KTM Tech3 secured second place, while Marc's teammate, Francesco Bagnaia completed the podium.
Saturday's Tissot Sprint race provided fans with an electrifying performance, with the Marquez brothers dominating the field. Marc Marquez claimed victory ahead of his brother Alex, with Franco Morbidelli taking third place.
Other racing categories showcased exciting competition:
- Moto2™: Aron Canet (Fantic Motor) secured victory, followed by Deniz Oncu (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and pole-sitter Manuel Gonzalez (Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP)
- Moto3™: Angel Piqueras (FRINSA - MT Helmets - MSI) emerged victorious in an incredibly close finish ahead of Taiyo Furusato (Honda Team Asia) and Ryusei Yamanaka
- Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup: Japanese riders dominated with Ryota Ogiwara taking first place, followed by teammate Seiryu Ikegami and Shingo Iidaka
As night fell over the circuit on Sunday, spectators were treated to a spectacular opening ceremony featuring Qatar Air Sports Committee paratroopers making a breathtaking leap onto the main straight, followed by an impressive freestyle bike stunt show that had the crowd on their feet. The ceremony continued with a performance of the Qatari national anthem, while the Grand Prix trophy was proudly displayed to the enthusiastic crowd.
Throughout the three-day event, the Fan Zone was alive with excitement as attendees enjoyed simulator experiences, go-karting sessions, illusion shows, live music performances from various DJs and bands, and got up close to their favorite riders in the Fan Forum. The popular Hero Walk brought together riders in a special fan engagement opportunity, allowing spectators to interact with their favorite competitors.
With another successful edition of the MotoGP™ Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar in the books, motorsport fans can already look forward to next year's event, which promises to deliver even more thrilling racing action at the state-of-the-art Lusail International Circuit.
