Al-Khulaifi and Al-Maadeed exchanged victory in the second round of the Qatar Touring Car Championship
Drivers Abdullah Al-Khulaifi and Ghanem Al-Maadeed took turns winning the two races of the second round of the fifth edition of the Qatar Touring Car Championship, which took place at the Lusail International Circuit over a period of two days, with the participation of 22 drivers.
Al-Khulaifi won the title after leading the general standings of the tour with 29 points, while Abdullah Al-Abbasi came second with 24 points, while Ghanem Al-Maadeed came third with 20 points.
Al-Khulaifi raised his score to 58 points at the top of the general standings, 23 points behind his closest competitor, Al-Maadeed with 35 points, while Ibrahim Al-Abdulghani came in third place with 33 points.
The two races of the championship witnessed strong competition among all drivers. In the first race consisting of 10 laps for a distance of 53.8 km, Al-Khulaifi on board a Honda S2000 car achieved the title after finishing first with a time of 24: 01.005 minutes.
In the second race consisting of 10 laps as well, Al-Maadeed displayed his car crashing in the first race, and he won the title after finishing first with a time of 23: 57.138 minutes. Al-Khulaifi had distinguished himself during the races of the opening round, where he won the qualifying test title after recording the fastest lap time of 2.22.155 minutes, while Ahmed Al-Asiri, who withdrew from the two main races due to a breakdown in his car, scored the title of free practice after occupying first place after scoring the fastest time per lap of 2.23.232 minutes.
