FORMULA 1® QATAR AIRWAYS QATAR GRAND PRIX 2026 will return for the fifth time as the penultimate round of the 2026 FIA Formula 1® World Championship, taking place at the iconic Lusail International Circuit (LIC) from 27 to 29 November 2026. For the 2026 Formula 1® season, 22 drivers are expected to compete across 11 teams, including the debut of Audi, with Nico Hülkenberg and 21 year old Gabriel Bortoleto confirmed as teammates on the newly branded Audi Revolut F1® team and the arrival of Cadillac as the sport’s 11th constructor, bringing experienced drivers Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas to the grid as the American backed outfit makes its debut. This expanded grid, featuring a blend of seasoned champions and rising stars, ensures fierce competition as teams adapt to the new era of Formula 1®. The 2026 season also marks the beginning of Formula 1®’s most significant technical regulation overhaul in more than a decade, ushering in a new generation of cars and power units. These cars will be shorter, lighter and more agile, with revised aerodynamics designed to reduce downforce and improve close racing, alongside the introduction of Active Aero systems that adjust wing configurations between corners and straights. To power the cars, the sport moves to a new hybrid formula with a near 50-50 split between electric and combustion power, the removal of the MGU-H, increased energy recovery, and the use of Advanced Sustainable Fuels. Drivers will also have greater tactical control through new energy deployment and recharge strategies, adding another strategic layer to wheel to wheel battles. Together, these changes define a bold new era focused on closer racing, road relevant technology and sustainability, all of which will be on full display under the lights at LIC. The Lusail International Circuit, a unique and fast 5.38 km layout, is known to test drivers' precision and bravery. With 16 flowing medium and high speed corners and a main straight over a kilometre long, the track offers excellent overtaking opportunities into Turn 1 fostering intense strategic battles.
